Lecture: Impact of Chronic Health Problems on a Young Working Population

Define and explain the different models of disability, appreciate the differences between chronic illness and disability and be able to describe and discuss the main issues that disabled people experience
Discuss the implications of these issues for health promotion and for health and social policy
Discuss how patients suffering from disorders of bones and joints may have to adapt and change their lives in order to reduce or compensate for the disabling effects of their clinical conditions
Describe that public attitudes and the social and physical environment may have to adapt or change in order to reduce or compensate for the disabling effects of these clinical conditions
