ILOs
- Describe the anatomy and function of the components of the upper respiratory tract: nasal cavity, paranasal sinuses, pharynx, upper larynx, with special reference to the anatomical location of the tonsils in the pharynx and their function.
- Have knowledge of the osteology of the norma lateralis of the skull, the temporal bone and the nasal cavity and paranasal sinuses.
- Identify components of the upper respiratory tract and temporal bone on clinical imaging.
- Give an account of the general layout of the anatomy of the external, middle and inner ears and the auditory tube, and to appreciate the anatomy and the common pathologies that can be seen with an auriscope.
